My host must have experienced server problems this morning or afternoon, because the site reverted to an older look. Everything is back to normal now, I think. Thank goodness for backups.

Now, on the sidebar of the main page is a small photo gallery of what I'm up to in my freelance / contract / electrics life. Most of these photos are going to be process shots during the build phase of shows, and most will probably be uploaded from my phone.

I've been working on the site fairly hardcore to get it ship-shape so that when I give out my business card to potential employers, everything works.

>> Added - an rss feed to the navigation bar (should you want to keep track of what's going on in my professional life).

>> Added - twitter updates to the sidebar for more regular updates. Follow me @ http://twitter.com/sglight.

>> Updated - the lightbox feature for the galleries. Now you don't have to click on a photo, close the photo, then open another. You can just click to view one, and then hover over either the left or right side of the photo and click to browse through the whole gallery.

>> Added - a working contact page. Send requests for hiring or feedback using this feature.

WHAM! Two sections of portfolio photos are up! At last! The shows I designed in October and November are in the Lighting Portfolio section. Willy Wonka and It's a Wonderful Life. I had over 150 photos to narrow down from for each show, and it was tough! But there they are. The "references" page isn't up in the lighting section. Also - still nothing up on the Web Design side of the site, yet. Since that's more of a hobby and not my real money-maker, it has to take a back-seat. Also the contact section isn't working, yet. Enjoy!

The redesign is progressing well. Finally had made the time to work on getting all the lighting design portfolios up and getting the layout to look the way I want. The main focus right now is to get all of the 'lighting' pages complete before moving on to the 'web and graphic' pages. The last major hurdles I face, now, are figuring out how to lay out the resumé in a meaningful manner.

Although it may not be apparent, I've re-initiated my attempt to revamp this site. I finally whittled down the design portfolio shots down from the hundreds to the few and had a little time to resize and crop for the large photos and the thumbnails. Next step, putting them into the code...

New portfolio photos up. I hope this looks the way I'm hoping it looks. If not, I'm not sure what I'm going to do. I guess I'll just have to figure out how to punch it in the neck in order to get it to do what I want. I hate having to be mean to my code.

The redesign is ON! The new design will showcase not only my lighting design portfolio, but also the productions where I served as a lighting technician (Electrician, Asst. Master Electrician, or Master Electrician) as well as my graphic and web designs.
